Was coming back from Aspen yesterday and saw a small 1/4 mile or so section of Muddy Creek a couple miles above Paonia Reservoir that looked like it was boatable. Class IV or V from the brief look I got at it. Can't find any info on it though. Anybody know anything about this stretch?

Ran that a couple years ago

There's a lot of private land and I got a couple of evil looks from land owners. Definitely Class IV with Class V consequences at higher flows. I'm guessing it was at 350 to 400 CFS. Lots of blasted rock shards with sharp edges.

just run the 2/3 mile section that starts at the turnout just above the steep stuff. the more water the better. a little ways in there is a class vish part. kind of manky, but fast and fun.
