I spent about 45 minutes crawling through the government website on permits for Hells Canyon, Main Salmon or the Middle Fork looking for the minimum age to apply for a permit. I did find for the Grand Canyon an applicant must be at least 18 years old. I am assuming that is the case with the four Rivers permit is well.
I am planning on applying for the first time this year and I'm looking to stack the deck as much as possible. Reading through the statistics, it looks like your chances of hitting a permit are about 1 in 25.
It's a no-brainer to submit applications for my wife, but my kids are all under 18 years old. Any other ideas to increase the odds of landing a permit?

Usually they ask for id drivers license. On the Grand plan on 10 years before you go, but you might get lucky especially if you are not picky about the time you go.

If you have 25 kids above the age of 18 that would help ;-)
