Memorial Day Scheming

Got skunked on permits for Memorial Day this year and at the rate the North Platte is surging, it's getting above some participants' comfort levels, so scheming a plan c.

Anyone have any beta on releases from either Crystal (Gunny Gorge) or Flaming Gorge (Sections A-C) dams? Think they're going to begin releasing this week? Have done both and would gladly return with adequate flows.

Anyone know anything about the Animas from Durango to Farmington? AW calls Durango to stateline II-III, but I can't find anything else about it. Was thinking about putting in for the town run and then continuing down for an overnight. Arid wasteland? Any camping? Any redeeming qualities whatsoever?
