There's gonna be a fundraising bash at Oscar Blues in Lyons, CO on Sunday March 19th starting at 5pm! The goal of the fundraiser is to create another hole below Black Bear & the A-hole. We are planning on a band, beer, catering from Oscar Blues, and all sorts of gear & stuff auctions (specific details to follow).

We're on the hunt for a wet October (thus the October Project name). Arn estimates the hole design will support good play into October.

So here is the deal...

Anyone that is tired of having no where to paddle on the front range from basically August to October should be at this to support the project. Just below the last years new hole on the Lyons park (A hole) is an diversion inlet from Carter Lake that drops in a few hundred CFS until mid October and sometimes later.

That is plenty of water to really get a great hole going in that particular place, especially since there is usually some water still coming down through the park upstream (combo of natural and dam control flow) at that time.

There should be some real good stuff to be had at the party... music, food, auctions of really good gear/boats and tons of hot Lyons babe's!!! (well... ok I am stretching it there)

Make sure to put it on your calander.

Good Call, I might give the manager a call. I will be sure to post it if we can get them. The goal is to get as many "non kayakers" as well as "kayakers" to this shindig. Pullin from the CU crowd could be the answer-as long as they bring money!!!!.

We've got a band booked and the name of the band fits well with what we are trying to accomplish. "Whitewater Ramble" from the fort is going to grace us with their presence on Sunday March 19th at Oskar Blues. It looks like they will be playing from about 6-9pm. We will have all the details finalized by this Friday and we will post it here. Whitewater Ramble is a "bluegrass/dancegrass" band that is gaining quite the following here in Colorado. Things are shaping up nicely with a lot of great gear that will be auctioned off. You don't want to miss out on great deals on items such as Kayaks, drytops, helmets, gift certificates to local paddle shops etc. This will be the place to get the deals on gear for the upcoming season.
