Any beta on running these at up to 4k in a cataraft?
Been years since I was down there and it was running 2,000-2500.
Thanks!

Yes its gonna be sick and only takes like 40 mins. Alberts the narrows and souse all need respect.

Dont go right in alberts there are some gnarly holes, go left at souse and try and break the lateral.

Big rock is prob covered up.

Seems like the odds of a flip at Souse are about 50/50 right now. Nothing downstream though, so it's all good fun.

Sorry my comments were related to the race course. The box is a whole diff animal at 4k, where alot of stuff gets washed out like powerline but the rio bravo section is pretty intense to finish the last hour or so of the trip with some massive holes and no eddies. Very technical boating at low and high water.

Some time ago me and several buddies in kayaks launched on Lower Box at close to 4k cfs. We had lots of runs at lower levels. Rio Bravo section in my opinion is a kayak run where you make the entrance and have your hands full till you hit a big eddy river left at Sunset Rapid which in the old days is pretty much the end as you can see the bridge. Sunset has big holes. Rio Bravo section will be pretty much continuous rapids. Me and my bud got lucky but we had one or two swims where rescue into one of the few eddies at that level was more luck than skill on our part.
