I'm new to kayaking and I am looking for instruction in the Montrose area. I don't want spend a lot of money or travel great distances. Like $200 for a 1/2 day, I don't think so. Are there any pool/roll clinics around?
check out your local kayak shop and see if any of the employees are willing to go out with you for a 12 pack or case. This way you get to meet some local paddlers and they get possibly a new customer.
The paddling community has too many good guys in it to not have someone in your area willing to help another get into the sport.
We have a group up here in Junction that does Thursday night roll sessions at Connected Lakes around 6pm. Most of us started this year so we’re working on everything together. We also do river runs on some weekends and after work Tuesdays here in town. If you’re interested let me know.
