So me and some of my buddies want to do a 2 day and 1 night trip somewhere around the Durango area. We were looking for something that is Class 2 and 3 and not a whole shit load of flat water. I was thinking something on the Animas or San Juan. Do you guys think these two rivers would be worth floating? Or is there something else around here that we should check out. Thanks.

HEY!

Steve,

a buddy and myself are leaving at around noon today to head down to Lower Taos Box...cruise down and run with us. We'll be at the campground for overnight digs and probably paddling early this evening.

Yeah, you could join our group or other suggestions...

San Miguel - on its way up
Dolores - gage below McPhee is showing around 500cfs
Gunny Gorge - low water, but you might be able to make it down
Moab Daily - and take your time
Cataract Canyon - more logistics envolved, but you would have the canyon to yourself this time of year.
Piedra - down to Navajo Res (Class II)

Animas and/or the San Juan might be your best bet.
