This year's Lyons Outdoor Games is the last weekend of May, 29-31.

I am recruiting safety personnel for the Adam Barron memorial South Saint Vrain Creek race.

The race is Friday the 29th from 4-7PM. It would be good to get there at least an hour or two prior.

I need a dozen or more safety staff to help out with this event.

Let me know if you are interested. I usually have a bag of swag with bear coupons, and possibly a free dinner, but can't personally promise what will be delivered.

email me if you are interested. davidhfrank (at) mac.com

Swag consists of a log shirt, sunglasses, free BBQ Friday night and Free Lunch Saturday. I'll for sure look into the fuzzy bear option and get back to you.

The boating is shaping up nicely. Folks are running SSV now. Flow was around 250 cfs.

There are lots of options that are now accessible and have very little of the immediate post flood mank.

Shelly's is looking good
Apple Valley much better than ever
Lower SSV below the narrows all the way to town is an option ( couple new issues that weren't there last year). Let me know I can post some details.

LOG has the revivalists as the headliner this year.
Slack line is back

BURNING CAN IS BACK!!
Beer Relay is new
HUGE kids are by active for adventure that has kayaking in a pool for the little ones.

We are shooting for zero waste
Kelty is giving away full camp sites fully decked out.

This list goes on..........
Bring you boats, your bikes, your bros and your broads and we will bring everything else......!

I have a strong handful of safety volunteers but could use a few more.

The entry drop of the Narrows proper doesn't look that appealing. The hole behind it looks to feed into a cave...

The tentative course is from the bottom the narrows to 1 in 5. The traditional safety on shore will need to be supplemented by boater on the other side in a few spots. Depending on levels, this course should be pretty stout. Some of these drops were talking names on Friday...Good stuff.

Bumping this for a few more volunteers.

The course is from middle of narrows down to right above the first homes; less than a mile below.

I am looking for both shore safety as well as boaters who can run this stretch to be either in an eddy or on the opposite shore.

The schwag offerings sound pretty good, and include a barbecue friday evening.

The race is this Friday the 29th. must check in to register at the Black bear hole, then be up on the course by 3 pm. Please meet up and carpool, as parking is limited.

Thanks

Thanks Matt. We should be pretty well set, assuming most who've replied show up.

Will be up there

Dave,

Henry hasn't decided if he'll race or not. If he doesn't race, he said he'll help with safety too. he's pretty handy in the boat or with a throwbag.

Dave, I am going up to SSV shortly. I paddle the creek a couple years back before the floods but dont remember much of it. Can you give me a little more beta on the start and finish of the race course? I remember where the narrows begins, thats about it. Thanks.

Race start will be above Jihad in the Narrows and race finish will be about 0.4 miles down. Dane found a sweet seal launch that will hopefully be the start.
