Looking for easy float option and came across the Little Yampa Canyon run. Does anyone have any experience with flows and whats the lower limit for rafts? AW says 1100cfs is the lower range but wondering if you can still get a raft through at that level or if you get into the IK range at lower flows.

Thanks for the beta!

I've only run it at high water and know absolutely about this stretch at lower flows. but expect you should be able to get a boat down it at the same flows you can get down the Upper C. 500 CFS should float a boat down just about any riverbed. It's scrapy but goes...

Talk to the folks at Good River Vibes in Craig. They have a lot of good information and a nice gear shop too.

Yampa through Steamboat was at 301 yesterday (630 below average for this day) and dropping. The rivers sure dried up fast this year. Little Yampa Canyon might be kinda tough at these water levels but as said before I would check with the outfit in Craig for more accurate advice. Happy Boating. Just picked up a late July Main cancellation. :D:grin:

Thanks for the advice, just called Good River Vibes and they recommended not to run it this weekend. Water is barley high enough but the bugs have been horrible this year and people have been rowing out a day early.

Disaster avoided!
