So far, my boats are car-top-able. I know both the Hyside paddle cat and the ST12 are less "flip prone" than the Hyside mini-max (10.5' x 5' with 18" tubes). Curious: what do y'all think between the paddlecat (frameless cat, 12' by 20" tubes, 1 inch shy of 5' wide) and the ST12 raft (12' x 2 inches shy of 6' wide; 19" tubes)???

Less flip prone would be the paddlecat for sure.

Both would be a blast.

The paddle cat will punch holes better and flip less when you hit big waves and holes straight. Being narrower if you hit something sideways the paddlecat will flip a bit easier. I think its harder to get the paddle cat out of a side surf than a normal raft. The paddle cat is a more maneuverable and will go faster as long as it's not overloaded (max 2 people). The raft will have a higher capacity and will perform better with a large load (max 7 people).
