There ya go. Rallied it last week in the yak and it was still at 1470. Bald eagles for days. Chuckar to Pleasure Park in 4 hours. Hard to beat that for November. Looks like the water is just now starting to drop.

I could never be sure if I was seeing successively more bald eagles or just the same one moving downstream and landing, only to fly again when I rounded that corner.

Mike as far as the browns, what were you using...a spin rod or a fly rod? If fly rod, what were you throwing? Did you possibly try a mouse pattern thrown at the bank?

Wasn't fishing. That's how many I counted that heaved themselves clear of the water to slurp from the clouds of baetis that were hatching...

Gunnison

Thanks for posting that,
Don't know anything about that river, where do you start and finish?

Start near Hotchkiss, CO (usually hike 1 mile down the Chukar Trail) and take out at the Gunnison River Pleasure Park (formerly Leroy's Pleaure Park...) close to Delta. 13.5 miles on the river, oftentimes done as an overnighter. Truly epic and gorgeous Class III stretch. You can send the Black Canyon of the Gunnison above this stretch if your Class V kayak game is dialed in.
