Hi
I’ve read about this stretch, sounds lovely and easy.
At this flow ~1500 at Gateview, will there be some pretty easy eddies for beginners to catch? Or is it going to be fast and pushy?

Also, is it possible to hitch hike this section or do we need our own shuttle?

Assuming you are running from the High Bridge to the campground at the Gate, it was a good beginner run at 1000 cfs a few weeks ago. At this flow it will be moving faster, but there will be plenty of eddies to catch. There is one drop that may seem big for a beginner. It is just past a highway bridge, close to the takeout, and is scoutable from the highway. There are a few low bridges, but I think kayaks should be able to pass under them still. Hitchability is very good on that highway. We used a bike to run shuttle and it was about a 30 minute ride back up the highway.

BTW, it is worth doing if you're in the area, but don't go out of your way to run it. I certainly wouldn't leave the Poudre behind to do that stretch.
