What are your thoughts on the Kokatat GME (not the GMER, with the relief zipper) I have come across a smokin' deal on one but want to know if it can be retorfitted with a relief zipper.

Search feature, there have been quite a few posts' about the gore-tex kokatat. Not sure on the relief zipper question, but I have a feeling you'd be able to find someone to do that.

yes- Kokatat will add a relief zipper to any of their suits. I think it costs in range of $130-170 if memory serves me correctly. Call them and ask. Expect 4-6 weeks but I bet they'll be faster.

Ok, I will give them (Kokatat) a call this week and talk to them about adding a zipper to the GME. Would there be any local (Denver/Front Range) shops that might be able to add the zipper?

Stitchlines supposedly can do it. Check out the link below for details. If you have time to send it this winter I think you'd be happier sending it to Kokatat. Relief zipper is definitely worth the extra money.
