Thinking about rafting Dewey Bridge to Potash boat ramp downstream of Moab in early January. Weather should be good as long as a winter snow storm isn't forecast? I am planning 3 to 4 days on the river. Any thoughts/advice on this trip would be appreciated. Thanks.

I did it early last February. It can be nice, or it can be very cold. The section between Dewey and Hitite Boat ramp is very slow at low flows and can be quite miserable with a head wind. Below Hitite you pick up more current. Have fun.

With nice weather, it's great. Maybe plan on a lay-over at Onion Cr camp, do some nice hiking on the N side of the river. Yes, it can be slow from Dewey to Hittle; can stop at Bull Canyon and do another walk. Bring firewood (and firepan, of course) as there really is no drift wood out there. And some mud boots would make good sense, too. Will be really quiet - wonderful!
