Posted this in the main discussion page...woops.

So, I purchased a 2012 spiderman superstar, and was wondering why the outfitting wasn't like the 2012 black/grey outfitting I saw on Jacksons' website. The last two digits on the serial number are 12, so I know its a 2012, but can anyone tell me about the difference in the outfitting. Put some pics up of the boat if that helps.

Also, how do you move the seat on this style? There are 2 metal clamps at the front and back, I'm thinking thats it, but don't want to loosen nothin' that don't need loosnen'. Thanks!

Yes looks like you've got the older style outfitting. Loosen up the hose clamps front and back. You should be able to move the seat with these loose. If it don't move, there might be a thumb screw on each side behind the hip pads to loosen as well. There is a hole at the front of the hip pad, you should be able to get at them through there.

Edit: After looking closer at the pictures, you have the older seat and seat track, But looks like the new color backband and hip pads. I've got a 2012 Villian S with the new seat and seat track but old color backband and hip pads. Not sure why this is though. It will still be an awesome playboat for you!

Got it man! Thanks...as far as the outfitting goes though, the boats a 2012, just the old outfitting? I wonder why they did that? Thanks again.

I bought a 2012 Remix that came with the "old" outfitting. I contacted CKS about the situation. They replaced the boat with one that had the "new" outfitting and paid the extra shipping cost to exchange the boats.

If the old outfitting in your Superstar doesn't bother you than go with it, but if it does you should get what you paid for, which is a "new" boat.

I agree! However, I bought it from someone who purchased it new. I bought it "used", so now I wonder if they will transfer the warranty to me? I really don't mind it if not, but if they would do that, it would be awesome!

I shouldn't complain though, got a good price on it, only had one owner previously. I'll just go with it, I've paddled it once already and it paddles like the old '09 I had, loved that boat, wore it to death though.
