I dont know if I should get a Jackson Star or an All Star. I an 155 lbs and 5'11". I have 9.5 feet. All I would be doing in it is playboating. Right now I paddle a Fun. Is the fun good enough for playboating? If you have any advise please let me know.
I went through this last year. I'm 6' and 155, with 10 size flippers. I just fit into the Star and though I'll only be playboating I should get the smallest one I can fit in.
But I was wrong. I've moved up to an AllStar and it makes a huge difference. I'm more comfortable. I can move up and down the waves better, I have more control, and the added volume is helping with the loop.
It may be harder for you to learn how to do flat water tricks, but it will be worth it in the end.
I recommend the AllStar.
On a side note, with the added volume and more comfort in the AllStar I can use it going down river as well. So I've gone to the creek boat/play boat pairing instead of having three boats. This set-up has helped increase my ability to run harder stuff.
