I went and looked at it the other day-not very exciting, but it is moving water with features -so maybe better than a swimming pool. I usually wait until it is at least 100cfs or greater.
I went last night. The flow was 71 CFS. Kind of lame but still nice to get wet. I think the flow needs to double before it starts to be much fun. Looked like lots of changes to the river bed. They really did a good bit of work over the off season. I hope we do not run into the same issues that the guys in Durango have encountered with smelter.
I hit it this morning before work to just get back in my boat, it was good to start the season. if you go in morning don't make the same mistake I did...wear a skull cap. Everytime I rolled over it was like getting hit in the head with a cold plank
i went at 78 cfs, and surprisingly it was fun. you can cartwheel righties in the bleacher hole, and they did some new work on the hole next to the library. it could get good with just a little more water.
