Hi

I am new to CO paddling so I don't have a depth of suggestions (or maybe I do -- but I hope I am missing some  ). Here's a few for Denver area that are play areas with short (under 1 mile) river runs. All are running now:

Confluence on S. Platte (please ask the river to keep you healthy though) :D

Union Chutes on S. Platte (there's a recent thread here on this section as well as other play areas) Very short 1/3 or so mile class 3ish run but play opportunities

Whitewater park on St Vrain near Lyons

Golden Whitewater Park has a short river run: http://boc123.com/Kayak/PlayparkGolden.cfm and has a link to flows.

I don't think there are any rivers runs running now w. good play...What class are you seeking? The Deckers section of the S. Platte (beautiful) is running. It's class 2 but there's some play... I love the section for it's pristine setting :D

I am interested in hearing what others suggest as I too love play runs..

Here's a link to the levels: http://www.alpinekayak.com/flows.aspx. That site will also tell you what's running.

Hope that helps,

Enjoy,
Annie
