Discussion Starter #1
As you may be aware, a Master Plan is being developed for the Clear Creek Corridor. What’s interesting is that a lot of feedback has been obtained from the trailer park, community gardens, ball fields, and other advocates. Very few comments from the boating community. What I’m learning in this process is vocal advocates get the improvements they would like, being silent and you might not like the improvements.

If you are interested in seeing improvements for boating, such as the inflatable drop structure, boaters need to be vocal. Other issues that are being discussed are parking, creek access, tubers, and whether or not to keep the pond.

- A plan to get rid of the pond and add an off river water feature
- Move parking, possibly getting rid of the current parking lot and having the parking by the Public works building
- Developing a secondary boaters loop by the Washington St bridge
- Challenges with use between boaters, tubers and fisherman
- Adjustable feature!!!

I’m sending this to you and asking you to spread the word! There are two ways to make comments,

1) Go to the website, Clear Creek Corridor Master Plan, and leave a comment.

2) Attend the public meeting, Tuesday August 24, 5:30-7:30 at the Golden Community Center.

I am going to go leave some comments now. I have to do it before my neighbor who hates kayakers for ruining the river corridor gets online and has her say.

Thanks for the heads up.

Is this for The Golden Play Park? It says for the clear creek area including lions, so does that mean that they are going to improve the Lyons park?

October 5th

This Tuesday, October 5th, is the final review meeting of the Master Plan for the Clear Creek Corridor improvements. This will include topics such as dog parks, parking, libraries, community gardens, and of course in river improvements as well.

The meeting is from 5:30 - 7:30pm at the Community Center (@ the Golden Rec Center) and will include revised proposals from the planners and opportunity for public input on these plans before it goes to a vote at a later time.

More information can be found on the Clear Creek Corridor Website and there is opportunity to leave comments on the site. If you cannot make the meeting, I'd encourage you to share your thoughts on the site as it's the only way your voice will be heard.

One thing to remember, is that the in stream improvements are only a part of this master plan and that plans for any improvements will be made at a later date. However, input regarding what you would like to / not like to see is incredibly valuable at this stage so take this opportunity - as many have - to attend or leave a comment.

Tomorrow!?! Too late of notice for me to move things around to make it...I would go otherwise. This the final meeting...I wish I could make it. It would be awesome to get some work in there. I hope a bunch of boaters show up!
