This place is insane now. 14 different forums are you kidding me! I could understand when they added the Gear Swap page. No one wanted to read all the forsale posts. But, how freak'en PC have we gotten. This is getting really stupid now.

Does any one know which one is Mountainbuzz anymore? What is the point of a boaters forum if your not talking about gear, river alerts, or new stuff around the area. The whole idea of the Buzz was we are all different folks getting together online to chat- the only thing most of us had in common was that we ALL love to paddle. Now we all need to be seperated for our differences.

Am I even posting this in the right forum?

 How about adding a high school forum, where people can bitch, whine and insult each other like f'n adolecents.

i think you got it. when you look above the blue bar on top of the post it says "Mountain Buzz Forum Index - > Boater's Forum".........idk, maybe your system is different than mine, but thats how i know im in the right place.

for the record, there might be a couple too many, but i do like the idea of branching out. keeps the buzz free for straight boating convos and keeps the off topic topics, well, on the off topic forums. stuff like the Go Dawgs in SEC or whatever topic. just my twenty seven cents.

Actually I think this is more for the Eddy or Support and Feedback which I think this post would be more Feedback than Support. :D
So Don whats your major beef with the new format? Are you having trouble finding posts and having to look too many places or does it seem too PC for you?

I think the new format is great. There are definately times where I want to discuss beta on runs, boat info, gear, snow sports but there are also times where I want to discuss other topics. Being on here has alllowed me to get to know some of the people on the forum who also have other interests out side of boating so, why have to log onto another site, join another community when I can have all of my trash talking OT threads with the same people I help and seek help from on this forum. Don, not sure if you are ADD and cannot seem to focus on the threads you need but I find it easy to do so. NICE WORK Andy R. Steve Z.

I agree

I too miss the random comments and misc boating talk. I could understand during the boating season breaking up the forum, but during the offseason the forum has always been about things other than boating. my two cents....Brent

When I log on, I just go to "View posts since last visit" these days (above the photo location) and hardly even bother dealing with looking into the sub-forums that Don's talking about unless I'm looking for something specific. That way I see all the new posts since my last visit.

Nerve

Holy touched a nerve. Had to search for the post., but I found in a forum I've never been too. Gees the places I've been. I'm so, better off now. My eyes have seen the light.

Nice work gang. Keep seperating the masses.

Can we have a Non-Religous Right Forum? How about one for the black paddlers? The Gay and Lesbian Forum? The paddlers that don't own dogs Forum? The dog lover Forum? The trust funder Forum? The I only get to paddle when my wifes got something else to do Forum? And, don't forget the whole reason for this PC crap- the I'm from Texas Forum.

Why don't you get rid of all the admins, and go back to the old style. You know where folks posted whatever they wanted to and if the topic looked interesting you clicked on it. Now I know who a dog feels when it's owner keeps yanking the leash. Sit, stay, good boy.

God I miss Frenchy- Brian Help!

We will bring up your suggestions at our next "oppress the kayak shop owners" meeting and address each new forum idea by clicking our nazi boot heels together and yelling "lets confuse em more".
Seriously the response has been mostly positive and it seems to help people narrow the type of posts they are looking for. You seem to be an intellingent guy, if you have some ideas let us know and we will see what we can do.

Also note that if you click on the category titles into which all of forums are sorted, the page will reload showing only the forums in that category. Perhaps this will help make things look less confusing for those who have difficulty sorting through the extremely long list of 14 forums.

There is a whole lot of traffic running through this forum. Just look at this as road signs directing you to the correct location you are heading. Most people jump on here when they have a moment at the work place and don't have time to rummage through all the BS, hence the different forums and threads appropriately labled. Don, sorry you are having difficulties moving through the forum or it might just be that you think "The Man" is attempting to make you and everyone else more PC...... I do not see it that way. Good Luck

You'll never please everyone, no matter how many forums you add or subtract. I kind of like the new set up. The last post feature is cool.

You know you can always start your own forum if you are that attached to the old system. Check out www.proboards.com Free software on a free server.

I agree that all these forums are ridiculous. I loved all the boater's forum because I'd check it and see all the things people are talking about. Frequently, I'd see an OT post that i wouldn't go looking for, but seemed interesting while scanning. If you didn't like it, it wasn't hard to not click on it. The buzz is not that big or hard to surf that it needs to be spread out all over the place. I can't seriously believe that ot posts on the boater's forum really angered anyone. Plus it's called the boater's forum, as in where boaters talk about it, not the boating only forum. Look at boatertalk - no one uses the other forums.

If you don't know who Don is than you're posts are well... more worthless than anything I have ever posed here -- and that isn't saying much cause I post bull shit and other fun rants about having sex and shooting the pea hole.

How about a forum for ladies men, pole smokers and herb tokers???

I am also down with the "I hate Boulder" forum where we can bitch about how shitty that dump of town is.

I never knew there was a single forum that was Mountainbuzz. We have had seperate sections for gear, alerts, etc for ages.

- Is it the fact that off topic posts were moved to another area?
- What other posts have moved that you now cannot find?
- So what about the changes is making things so hard?

This entire issue is interesting to me.

I remember when Frenchy upgraded the Buzz to PHPBB from the old Boater Talk style forum. People complained like crazy that they liked the old forum better. When the fact was that the new forum was leagues better than the old.

Like kayaking... MountainBuzz has evolved over the years... and it continues to evolve.

We have always had a number of different forums and now we have a couple more. In my opinion it is organized pretty well. The subject and purpose of each forum is clear. In addition PHPBB has the functionality for you to access the posts you want to see or not see.

I say we should sit back and relax... there is no need to get our panties in a knot about this... the site is better... we just need to have a little patience while we are evolving.
