We scored a permit this year for mid-July, first timers to this river. We are a family of 4 with 15 year old and 8 year old, rafted Yampa, San Juan, Gates, Upper and Lower Colorado, Lower Gunnison, etc. Other families might join us as well but 8 year old is the youngest. Looking at the dam to pittsburgh landing section in 3 days. Thinking 3-4 day trip, open to other sections if that makes more sense. This is likely a one and done trip due to the driving distance to get there.
I understand the flows are dam controlled, but what might we expect for mid-July?
Any issues with kid ages?
