For hitching with commercials Hecla is better, but if you end up walking to the highway to stick out your thumb it is SIGNIFICANTLY closer to Stone Bridge.
It's easier to make new friends at the put in and share a shuttle. Both Fisherman's Bridge and Ruby Mountain are busy on weekends right now. Give yourself an extra hour and you'll have no problem making arrangements.
Thanks, guys. Hecla worked out great. Actually got turned down by a Noah's Ark bus first (even offered to help load boats, give them some cash, etc.) but then walked 10 feet over to a private boater and got a quick yes.
