They are back, but then maybe they never left. This was the third time camping at Tacoma this year and the first two times were without incident. This time those little bandits with masks got me. It was my fault for leaving my water bottle, with maybe a sip of Gatorade in it, out by my chair, but who would have thought they'd take a PDF. My son had eaten a granola bar on the river and stuck the rapper in his life vest to dispose of later in the trash, which he forgot to do. After about ha!f an hour of searching, we found their new stash place. They had unzipped the pocket on the PDF and removed the granola wrapper. My water bottle didn't fair so well. It looked like what they couldn't couldn't open, a bear came along and finished the job. Not much is safe with those critters around.

We camped at Tacoma Sandbar the night of June 30. About 0030 hr a bear got on one raft and started in on the cooler. Noise woke me and I yelled : he took off. Minor damage.
