I need just a cap for a Halkey Roberts "Heavy Duty" (Red Stem, aka "long")

I suppose if I need to replace the valve, I will...but I believe that involves cutting out the old valve and patching a new valve in? or do the current Halkey Roberts valves thread in?

Anyone?

The new Halkey Roberts Valves (as far as I understand) do not thread into the same "nut" as the old ones.

So, I believe that it takes some surgery (cutting the old valve out and patching a new one in).

Which is why I am trying so hard to find a replacement cap.

Anyone?

I have a spare red stem Halkey Roberts valve and cap in my repair kit but not going to part with it since they are no longer made. I bought it refurbished direct from Sotar a few years ago but it wasn't cheap. At that time they said they keep a supply around for repairing their older rafts so try giving them a call

I believe the caps for the newer Halkey Roberts valves should work. I have an old boat with the old valves. Had t put a rubber washer on the cap to make it tight. Found the caps @ Riverboat Works/ Salida,Co.
