Sound reasonable? My focus is to get a boat which is safe, fast, and relatively easy to roll in class 3-5 water. Would love to play a little by surfing and doing flat spins in waves, but focus is river running safely.

Is 235, 245 or 255 the best for my size and goals? All my research says 245 ... any other opinions :?:

Might be able to help you here.

Your my size to a tee and I 've paddled both kayaks. The 235 may be the proper fit here. The 235 will surf better and would spin on the right wave. It has racey lines to it, while holding on to it creekish volume.

The H3-245 would be a more conservetive Class V style boat. Great volume and width for stability. As a surfing style kayak, it may not move as quick edge to edge as you would like. As an overnighter it doesn't get much better. Load and go.

The H3-235 is not lacking in length. It has great speed and a very predictable river running hull. As long as it fits your feet well, getting in and out of the kayak is a breeze. (Oversized cockpit size Xtra-Long)

Take a seat in each before making any rash desicions.
