You don't want to take a boat down any other trail other than the Chukar.
Taking a beginner in their own boat down the Gorge may not be a good idea. The flow has dropped also.

If you don't want to do the hike, put-in at Pleasure Park and take out in Delta. Or run Escalante to Whitewater.
Pleasure park to Delta has a nasty diversion that you don't want to run! Take out at the Hwy. 65 Bridge...

Compared to the Gunny Gorge, PP - Hwy. 65 bridge or Escalante to Whitewater are pretty boring. If you're taking a raft you'll need to look at renting horses. If kayaking you can easily carry the mile. I think levels are getting too low for rafting now... less than 800 cfs is considered too low for rafting, although I did it at 400 in my 14' raft.

If you go have fun, be safe, and bring a fishing pole...
