Not "in the gorge" but I floated Pleasure Park to Delta yesterday.
No issues with smoke.
The WS valley was pretty smokey on the drive. I'm guessing from CA fires.

What is that stretch like? We're doing a fishing trip down Gunny gorge, and I'm wondering if it would be worthwhile to tack that section on.

We probably won't this trip since it would screw up the plan, but it might be cool to do on a future trip.

I know it would complicate shuttle logistics if using an outfitter, but I have a friend that lives near Montrose that I bet I could talk into helping us set a shuttle.

It's mellow flat water with enough current and riffels to not get bored. The first 6-8 miles below Pleasure Park is nice, mostly public land with a few good camping spots and great fishing. Once you get to Austin and the bridges you are in AG country.

It's an hour by hour situation here in Ridgway; socked in in the morning, decent in the afternoon or, today, decent in the morning and socked in in the afternoon.
It sucks but i wouldn't let it rule my river plans.
