On Saturday, March 16th, GOALS (Get Outside And Learn Something) will host the 3rd annual "Get Up & Get Down to Get Kids Out" Vertical Challenge.
This ski-a-thon fundraiser is an incredibly important event for a local nonprofit organization whose mission is to inspire exploration in youth through multi-day wilderness river trips. As the founder/executive director of GOALS, I hope that some members of this community who love rivers and want more kids to connect with them will consider joining the 2013 GOALS Vertical Challenge team!

It's so simple:
1. Register (for free) by clicking HERE.
2. Create your own electronic fundraising page (from a template) - very easy.
3. Send your link out via email, post it to your Facebook page, etc. Everyone you ask for pledges is not only potentially supporting you...they're also learning about GOALS.
4. Show up at Loveland on 3/16 and we'll hook you up with a tracking device that measures your vertical feet, top speed, total distance, etc. You can monitor your progress on a live leader board at the base.

If you don't have a Loveland lift ticket, GOALS will provide you with one (as well as an event t-shirt) as long as you raise at least $250. Go beyond that, and you're eligible for lots of other great prizes - a 2013/14 Loveland season pass, Icelantic skis or a Never Summer Snowboard, and more.

It's a fun, community-oriented event that promotes healthy outdoor recreation and supports an organization that will take groups from all over the state, and even the country, out on multi-days this summer all over the American West. We'll teach the kids about conservation, provide them with a skill set that will motivate them to return to and protect wild places, and show them that they're capable of overcoming more than they ever thought they could...whether that's sleeping under the stars or successfully navigating the Big Drops!

I have big goals this year to build a team of 100 skiers and riders, and I need your help to make that happen. A successful Vertical Challenge means more programs headed out with more scholarships for kids and more people aware of GOALS!
