I am trying to get to CB by next weekend. I was hoping to not have to go all the way around. Can I go from Carbondale and get on Rd 12 and take that into CB? Is it open? Anything I should know about the road? I am assuming Gothic is closed and not paved right?

P.S. Will CB stuff still be running next week?

Thanks

I know Kebler is open - not sure about Schoffield (doubt it).
Can't help with your route - BUT the creeks should definitely be running.

Kebler is fairly long, windy, and dusty, but it is pretty gradual and there are no bad hills at all. Going through Gothic is over Schofield Pass, ie, super scary rock gnar. not the place for anything other than a full suspension rock hopper. Kebler wouldnt be too bad, especially now that the rain has quit and it should be drying out. just watch out for cars on the tighter corners. the upper ruby fork should be running and by the time youve climbed that far up (its just below the top of kebler on the west side) you may be itchin for a break. honestly if kebler is open, take it, because it wont be too hard on you, and it will save you mega mega time and miles.
