GCPBA Meets With Grand Canyon National Park Personnel

The Grand Canyon Private Boaters Association recently met with Grand Canyon National Park personnel to discuss various topics we had submitted to them regarding adaptive management of the 2006 Colorado River Management Plan.

The session was held with River Permits Program Manager Steve Sullivan, Chief River District Ranger Brian Bloom, and Wilderness Planner Linda Jalbert. Representing GCPBA were Wally Rist, Rich Harter, Rich Turner, and Rich Phillips.

It was a very productive meeting. Steve, Linda, and Brian appreciated learning about the variety of topics that we felt were important to private boaters.

While no final decisions were made, we made good progress on a number of issues. Follow-up items were identified for additional work with the Park.

We look forward to further discussions with the Park about these and other topics as they arise. As always, we appreciate the time Steve, Linda, and Brian used to meet with us.

You forgot to mention the GCPBA Treasurer, Richie Rich!
