Steve Sullivan in the Grand Canyon River Office has just advised that changes requested for the lottey website are going to take a bit longer than anticipated. It now appears that it will be right after Thanksgiving before the Park's webe site opens up for secondary applications. Also, the site will probably accept applications for just one week.

The Park expects to nail down the start and end dates for the lottery, and post them on the website later today. They also will send out emails either later today or early next week.

FWIW.

Really do appreciate the real time updates. It would be tough to follow all the chaotic changes if you weren't looking out for us. Thanks for keeping us in the loop.

Thanks for the encouraging words. Please forgive me for slipping in a truly shameless plug for GCPBA membership.

GCPBA is a totally volunteer-run organization. The Board donates considerable time and travel, and even out-of-pocket expenses, to keep it running. But we also have expenses for administrative operations, publications, web site upkeep, litigation, Park Service meetings, and so forth, which require actual money.

Membership in GCPBA is only $25 right now (an increase may be in the works after the first of the year). And we're always ready to take donations -- particularly now when folks are looking for ways to beef up their charitable donations before the tax year ends.

Supporting GCPBA is an excellent way to keep private boater interests in the forefront with the Park Service, as well as to keep the information flowing from them to us. Help us out by logging onto http://www.gcpba.org and clicking on "Join".

Best to you.
