OK I'll say it.. Have Fun, but remember your boats (or out of state plates) are probable cause. Drive the speed limit, stop at red lights and all stop signs. The river rangers are cool but don't puff weed in front of them.
All the outfitters are good these days - Adventures on the Gorge is probably the best.

If you can swing it...hit the Upper Yough before the fest. It runs everyday for a week before everyone head south. Precision Rafting if ya want to book a trip.

Love seeing a Robert Seay reference on here, been over twenty years since I knew him at Rivermen, such a fucking legend.

 

Couldn’t think of better guide to have your first Gauley trip with, then on Tuesday he’ll take you float fishing down the New River and catch 100 fish.

 

The moth man thing is cool and a car rental is cheap . Worth the drive and fun. Be careful in the river it’s a sneaky one and has taken another really good boater this year. Can’t live like a deer in the wood but do try and remember to be careful (after you slap the bag lol)

 

There’s a super rad guide there named Doug. If you can hook a ride with him you won’t regret it. He’s hilarious.

Took Friday to learn the lines with ACE on a marathon lap.
As someone who private boats 99.9% of the time, we absolutely scored on guides.
Top notch guide with tons of experience and great stories, showed us all the hazards and surf waves along the way.

Went to Tudors twice! No encounters with LEO either.
