Gates of Lodore 7/26-7/29

My uncle and I have been wanting to do another Gates trip since our last aborted effort in 2012, and I was able to pick up a cancellation permit yesterday to launch on 7/26. Most of our normal group (most of whom we met on the Buzz) can't make it, so we're looking for a few fine river folk to join us. Always better to have a couple of boats along and make new friends!

We're talking about launching from the dam on 7/23 probably assuming the flows stay up. You'd be welcome to join us there, or meet us at Lodore.

We're from the Denver area, laid back with all of the group gear needed plus some. On the river, we set up world class camps, eat like kings and enjoy many fine cocktails at (mostly) appropriate times

. Safety first, don't be stupid and the like, but have the good time that can only be had on the river.

The permit paperwork goes in on Monday morning the 7th, so if you'd like to join us, please email:

Greetings, Thanks for the invite, I would love to join you!, I am 52 , have 24 years experience on the river, have a laid back, slightly twisted sense of humor attitude LOL,and have any and all gear, and make a mean rum sauce bread pudding...among other tasty things, I live in Hot Sulpher Springs and have no problem getting together to see if we mesh, give me a call at 970-389-4706, or Email at [email protected], lookin forward to talkin to ya! Mark' niece is also going on this trip as a kayaker so we are also looking another kayaker to go with us. She is a beginner with a good roll, but not a lot if small river experience so another kayak would be a great addition.

Thanks for the interest, but we are now a full group and the permit paperwork went in this morning.
