The City of Montrose is going to host a fun day of whitewater racing on 8/1. Downriver Sprint in the morning for kayaks, SUP and rec boats to the Main Street Bridge. Then a Boater/SUP Cross Race in the park in the afternoon. They will still have good water then and the park is super fun for playboating/Surf. I was there yesterday and had a lot fun in both my kayak and SUP. Join the event on FB here to stay up on the details. Thanks!

Classes for the races will be Whitewater Kayak (10' and under), SUP (11' and under) and recreational (sit-on-tops, inflatables, etc) downriver race only. The City is putting up a healthy cash prize for kayak and SUP so it will be worth your time to come out and race. Check out the FB page above for updates. Thanks.

All right all you boaters on the western slope, here's your chance to get some limelight action going. Would really like to see a good showing from Grand Junction, Delta, Gunnison and down from Durango way. I mean really, no entry fee at all, and almost $3,000 in cash all around for a first time festival, come on get real. The weather is suppose to be premo, great food, beverages, and one of the best whitewater parks in the state of Colorado, oh yea free music to boot, can't get any better. Hope to see lots of people there, Sat. August 1st, check out the official Func Fest program for events.
