The starting tower is 2 tiers of scaffolding, 11 feet high, so its not that huge, but it sure looks intimidating looking down the track from up top. The in run plank is only 20" wide, which looks tiny from up there.
The kicker is a half tall section of scaffolding that is 3 feet high with 7 feet of table and another seven feet of landing ramp.
Everything is covered in old carpet; it slides ok wetted down, but its not Woodward. More carpet was added to pad out some corners and the runnout.
What is really needed is 2 more feet of snow. I've scraped up all of the loose snow from the yard to build the transition and the landing.
I used a hose to ice it all down bullet proof.
The adjustable starting chair was only used to let Riley work his way up to the top slowly, if not altogether safely.
This thing is mainly for Riley, but I gave it a few test runs to make sure it was reasonable.
With only 11 feet of starting ht, the airs are not that big, but much more and we'd be clearing the landing ramp.
The transition is a little awkward, but we don't have much space to move the ramp further away. There wasn't enough snow to really round out the kicker. I need to build one out of wood with smoother curves.
Riley was on it until I told him it was too dark.
I've got quick clip I'll try to add later.
Let's hope the neighbors don't mind too much.
