If you missed it or need more Pine Creek Boater X action we have a great 30 minute DVD full of racing action and all the carnage you need to see in one day at Pine Creek. With the race starting at 1200cfs and ending at 1600cfs it was truly an epic day.

DVDs are available at CKS in BV or online email us at [email protected]

Thanks to everyone who came out and look forward to next year.

I'd like to hear some details on what went on. How many racers in the hole at once? How many swimmers? Boat length restrictions? Results? Injuries? Hole strategy? Punch or go right I would assume. And how bout a free teaser video for us cheapskates?

The race was tons of fun, good carnage though no injuries. Usually the hole had solo riders, but on occasion two people shared the hole. There were probably 7 or 8 swimmers and plenty more who surfed until they were spit out and spared a swim. Most chose to run left of the hole, though the right line went as well. Kyle McCutchen had the cleanest right line of the day. Almost anyone who ran the center line was in for a treat as the hole was at its most threatening level (1300-1600cfs). Huge thanks to Chad H. and Mark for putting this race together! Can't wait till next year.

Thanks to all!!

I just wanted to say thanks to everybody who came out for this race. It was an amazing sight to see. Watching these guys race down this rapid was something else. The competitors that raced this are incredible paddlers, they have serious balls of steel and maybe are a little bit nuts for doing this.

THANK YOU LUKE, AND RON at WHITEWATERPHOTOGRAPHY.COM for enduring the blistering sun to catch all of the action on video.

I WANTED TO GIVE AN EXTRA SPECIAL THANKS TO ALL VOLUNTEERS!!
My throwbag crew was spectacular!!! You guys ROCK!! I hope you had fun in the process. Also, thanks to my safety boaters!! Thank you for chasing all of that gear downstream

I can't wait for next year. The second year will only get bigger and better! And more safety will be needed...I found that one out by trial and error!!

Thanks again

RESULTS

Oh yeah, I will post a list of time trial results tomorrow.

1st place-Andy Maser
2nd Dunbar Hardy
3rd Marty Rood

No injuries. Most people went left of hole. A few tried to punch the hole ...some made it, most were rejected and beat down for trying. McCutchen had a beautiful right line past the hole to advance into Semi-s (went from 4th to 2nd) but then got pummeled in his next attempt during Semi's. It was anybody's game to advance. Dunbar's strategy was to hang in the 3rd or 4th spot and wait for someone to get beat in the hole and then pass them on the left of the hole as they got beat down in the hole. There was never a heat where if you were in last at the start that you didn't have a chance to gain ground and advance to the next heat.

...more later
