Check out this picture! My buddy and I headed down this weekend with the intention of doing an overnighter on the Colorado through Professor Valley. Needless to say we had to turn around and come home. We couldn't believe how much snow and ice was down there.
Cisco Landing still had over a foot of snow on it.

I have been watching the Moab daily this winter, and a few friends in Moab here have been doing little sections on occasion. Little sections that you can see from the road that dont have an ice bridge to pin you on or under, and they usually go ahead to the take out spot and chip ice from the beach so they can get to shore. It is finally warming up here a little bit- there is more melting going on than freezing.

If you are desperate, you can scooch across the ice above whites rapid at the "white sneak" put in, and take out below the ranch on the left just above dead dog rock. That way you can run whites. I have been thinking about it while I sit inside drinking hot chocolate.

You might be OK for westwater by the 27th, but it is narrow in there, and the ice dams would be bad if present. I don't think the rangers are there yet. If you see ice chunks still floating in the river, prudence would tell you to go skiing, instead.

I have a cat trip on the 2nd of March, so I am hoping the ice will be off by then.

Hi,

No rangers will be on duty at WW until 2/28. I doubt the River Office will have any current info either. Could be wrong there....

The only way to know for sure would be an aircraft overflight, or an in-person report from someone who took the chance they might have to do a lot of walking at some point to get around the frozen sections.

FWIW.
