We have a Desolation Canyon trip next week and will be picking up one of our party at the Salt Lake City airport. This will put cause us to head down to Sand Wash late in the afternoon. I was wondering if anyone had been down the road this spring and could give an update on the wisdom of driving in around 5:00 p.m.?

We did a memorial day deso and the road was looking better than I've seen it in a few years. You should be good to go driving in at night.

I'm a home health nurse from Montana. The road looked better than some of the places I have to go to see patients. I would say you are good to go. May you have no upstream wind. We just got back yesterday and it was not so for us, but still had a great trip.

That is one of the great philosphical questions, "Why does the wind always blow upstream?"
