Heads up Gore Canyon boaters! A BLM contractor will begin working at the Confluence Recreation Site later this week. Weather permitting, they may work weekends as well as weekdays. The contractor will be improving the parking area and constructing a boat slide. Access to the put-in will be limited during construction. Access to the river will be on the south end of the area. Most of the work will be in the parking area, so expect that area to be closed for vehicle use. If there are no safety concerns or conflicts, the south end of the recreation site will remain open to the public. If there are conflicts, access will be moved back up the road to another BLM parcel. The alternative put-in will add 2 miles of flat water on the Blue River before the confluence. Please help the process by cooperating with the contractor. They need to do this work before the weather gets too cold. If you have any questions, please contact me (Andy at 970-724-3039). Thanks for your help.

Sounds good. I just hope we don't have to pay to use the put-in after this is done.
