I've always found it a little funny, and scary, that if you walk from Confluence to Cuernavaca once you get about 1/2 way into Commons park you start to see permanent signs talking about how dangerous the contaminant level is in the South Platte. Just far enough away from where everyone is swimming to keep them from seeing the signs.
There is a sign right there by the little sand beach that the kiddies play at explaining about the danger of e-coli when the water warms up. So for those parents to act surprised is beyond belief! Every year they run the same story, surprised they didn't tie it in with which is more contaminated Bolder creek or confluence like they ussually do!
