A gruelling 12 hour day, which started out beautiful and turned cold and windy (turning the boot deep powder into wind slab):

Date: 02/07/04 2:00 pm
Elevation: ~14,100 ft
Temp: ~-10 F
Visibility: Blue bird (until 3:00 pm)
Wind: 20-30 knots

Conditions: Winter snow pack.
Avalanche: Considerable
Distance: 3+ miles up. 3600' verticle.
Duration: 7.5 hours up, 4.5 hours back.
Rating: Advanced
