My girlfriend and I and possibly a friend or two are looking for a swift water rescue course this spring. Preferably on the western slope. I have looked around but haven't been able to find anything listed. Any of you guys know of one?

Thanks,
Andrew

Colorado Mountain College in Glenwood Springs will offer a swiftwater class May 18-20. The class will be taught to ACA Level IV whitewater rescue curriculum with ACA certed instructors. Cost is for one credit hour + $75 or so. Enrollment begins April 16. Call 800-621-8559 and ask for the Glenwood Center.

Southwest Rescue offers courses in Wilderness Medicine, Swiftwater Rescue, and Avalanche Education in Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico

Aaron is based in Durango, super energetic and concientious, and was part of the crew that got me started on a safe boating career over a decade ago.
Took a class from Aaron a couple years ago and he was great!! Really nice having the creek to yourself and if he's still doing it in the same place at the tree farm, its so beautiful, makes for a really nice atmosphere. I learned so much those three days and more importantly, he praised the practical. Definitely recommend SW rescue!!

Thanks DrBigDog, that's perfect.

I appreciate all the other suggestions as well but you can't beat the home town course.

Dang, course is full and the next offereing is May 29-31 midweek. I can't take off 3 days of work, taking off one day was hard enough.

Really it's full? I called Monday and was told registration started the 23rd. I wonder what the confusion is. I was told course number 67182 Out119GW01.

The lady on the phone told me it was full. She also said that registration for summer courses begins Monday. Looking up the course in the online database it is shown as a summer course with all slots open. I guess I will try again Monday.

It you are not a current CMC student you will need to sign up in person or over the internet. Over the phone only works if you area a current student since this is a credit course.

swiftwater rescue course

There is no way the Colorado Mountain College SW Rescue class is full, as registration does not begin until 4/23; tomorrow.
The reg limit is 18, so the person does not know what they are talking about.

call them again or call 970-947-8298 for more up to speed people.
