Hi,
I am thinking of demoing a one person IK on the 16th. I have a hardshell kayak but may retire from that. I haven't paddled the Ark in the BV/Salida area (most of my paddling was on the east coast before I moved here) and would like to do that. I don't want to do anything intense; just a fun day. So I am thinking (without knowing too much) of maybe the Lower Brown or Salida Town run but I am flexible! I may bring both my hardshell and an IK. I like to go slower to play a bit. I am thinking of camping too and welcome company for that too.
Let me know if you are interested! And paddling with your kids is fine too!

Seidel's is still a pretty good rapid at current flows, but it should be dropping off on the 15th. Salida East to Rincon is probably a good option if you don't want to run Seidel's Suckhole and Twin Falls. Maybe BV to Johnson Village with a scout/portage of the Silver Bullet..? Fractions will still be class 3 and the Milk Run will be too low.

Myself, my son, my dog and one other gentleman from Salida are taking our IK's from Salida East to Rincon this coming Sunday (10th). Just a leisurely float. Starting early on Sunday morning. Cannot do next weekend.

Can Silver Bullet be easily portaged now? I heard at high water that it was pulling boats back into the hole at the bottom. I assume much better now?
The feature itself is a 3+, possibly a 4- at current flows. The portage/scout trail was washed out at high water, but AHRA has already brought contractors in to rebuild the trail/eddy. There is good signage and flat water leading to the lip.
