Word on the street is the road in and out of Cisco is all fuckered up from flash floods. Has anyone been down there recently? I’m running Westwater in a few weeks and curious how bad it is

The sketchy bridge over the Wash just before the take out got hit by a flash flood in September. Its so sketchy now that Grand County had to condemn it. You can drive through the wash as long as it’s not wet. It can turn into a truck swallowing bog.
I heard that it was going to be replaced but for better info call the BLM Moab office.

That’s good info and would heed that! Particularly the Sulpher warning!
Agreed! I learned my lesson the hard way at sulphur years ago. I still have PTSD from it, probably why I’m overly concerned about the Cisco road.

I was invited on a trip down this last weekend but declined to get more use from my ski pass. Those who did go made it out and no mention of any problems.
If your friends don’t have any wild stories to tell it must be a non issue. Plus, ol’ ranger Bob Doesn’t seem too worried.

I guess we’ll see how much rain/snow we get in the next two weeks and assess things when we get there

We had a staff member take out yesterday. When they set shuttle on Sunday the route around the bridge was wet but drivable. He said from some of the ruts they were seeing, it did look like a few people had a hard time recently. Everything was dry yesterday and no issues. Sounds like the road condition will vary depending on when and how much it has rained. Stay safe and make smart choices :)

For what its worth... I drove a 12k pound F550 over it last year after the blow out after getting pretty stuck going around. It looks sketchy because the railing is hanging in the air, but the main strutcture of the bridge looked solid. I'm not condoning ignoring the closed signs or trying the bridge... but also not saying to not do those things either.
