Cataract Oars Navigator Guide Paddle:Amazon:Sports & Outdoors

Hope the link works. It's also on backcountry.com.

I'm wondering if any raft guides have one of these. This year's high water left me wanting a lightweight guide stick with a big blade. The Carlisle guide paddle is too much - too heavy and too big, wooden paddles are expensive and heavy, and the Werner is light, but has a fairly small blade.

Considering ordering one, but would love input. I've rowed their oars and like them, but have never heard of this paddle..

They are awesome paddles while they last. They do break, we've broken 3 over the years. Cataract was no help as they said they didn't make them anymore. I'm not saying anything bad about Cataract as I've had great customer service regarding their oars.

Werners are great for all water levels, though their blades are a tad smaller. Sawyer's are even better for high water but too much at low flows.

I've used the Werner for years. I want a bigger blade, but minimal extra weight.

I have a Iliad paddle blade. Anyone know where I can buy a carbon or glass shaft with T grip?
