I got a ticket going into box elder. (speeding)It was clear the state trooper was looking for a reason to search my car. The only reason I can see on this is boat on roof or out of state plates. Be aware in that area.

Country road. Hell, It's 60 bucks, not the end of the world. I just thought how agressive he was and wanting to search my car would be something most of you need to know about. I fortunately don't carry alot of the stuff most of you do in my boating bags.

Like I said, the whole thing was wierd. He had a bit of a napolean thing going on and I think I pushed the wrong button when I asked why he wouldn't just give me a warning. Anyway, they have a ton of water going off over their. It's weird, because they don't seem to have that much snow pack, but the creeks seem to be up around the high water marks. I wish I had more time. Hopefully next year I can make a multi day trip to the area.

To be clear, moving vehicle violations: speeding, failure to yeild etc, are not grounds to search your vehicle. The cops can lie to you, tell you that they will just confiscate it if they find any, tell you it will be easier on you if you let them search.

Key words: Am i being detained? Am I being charged? And - I do not consent to searches.
And the last - Am I free to go?

Be careful out there and don't give up your rights.

If you were speeding, you deserved to be pulled over. I'm not just saying that 'cause I'm from Wyoming either. You definitely didn't deserved to have a cop try to search you though.

they are out to get you. NONE of them are good people. ALL cops have small genitals. thats science people.

Edited to add only male cops have small genitals, female cops have large gaping genitals.

Speeding on a deserted road is a victimless crime. Mt had it right for a while. So does Germany on the autobahn.

Nice try though.

No road in my state is deserted, nor are any crimes victimless. If he wrecked and was injured or died in his victimless crime, aren't they affected? The construct of victimless crime is bullshit. I don't know Canada, but I assume that he has people that love him. If there aren't other humans on those roads, there certainly are other species that share our world with us.

By the way, I really appreciated the videos you posted. It's always good to know how to deal with a cop that pulls you over.

No road in my state is deserted, Wyoming backcountry roads are not designed like the Autobahn, nor are any crimes victimless. If there aren't other humans on those roads, there certainly are other species (we have more antelope than humans in Wyoming) that share our world with us. Are other species any less important then humans? I don't know Canada, but I assume that he has people that love him. If he wrecked and was injured or died in his victimless crime, aren't they affected by his actions?

I don't know you, but your argument smells of libertarianism that values the individual over the good of all. I really have a problem with the whole construct of libertarianism if it doesn't involve some socialist ideology. After all (to quote Twain): "Laws control the lesser man...Right conduct controls the greater one."

By the way, I really appreciated the videos you posted. It's always good to know how to deal with an asshole cop that pulls you over.

Don't call me buddy, pal. Everything that we do directly effects the world around us.
There are tons of bullshit unjust laws and there truly are victimless crimes.

Like one of the old laws that forbid intercourse on Sunday or some of the other puritanical type laws.

Just because it's "Law" doesn't mean it's right or just.

- There are still several parts of the country where brewing your own beer is illegal. What's the crime?

I agree with you there (see the Twain quote on my take on laws). I choose to follow my right conduct which can and does lead me to break laws. I acknowledge the risk of breaking laws and will take the consequences if I am caught doing whatever I choose to do. I don't blame the cop nor do I blame the law.

I reckon I misspoke when I said there are no victimless crimes. I don't put speeding in the same class as the absurd victimless laws you posted. I have had too many friends die from driving too fast.

just FYI the Utah state Patrol stopped me with the same intentions (searching my car) heading back from westy one time.

(I am no lawyer nor someone you should take advice from but) Unless they SEE something illegal they cannot search.

He "pulled me over for speeding" ran my stuff came back and said -get this- "I'm not going to give you a ticket today, do you mind if I search your vehicle?" to which I politely told him that he was talking to an American Citizen and I found it very offensive he would be so devious in a place with so much authority. I did not have anything but Colorado beer to be afraid of but ALWAYS SAY NO to this question, ALWAYS. I did say hell no, and he let it go with an apology to me that did not make up for the fact that he represents honesty and is as devious as a fuckin criminal.

anyway, besides the whitewater, be careful out there!
