Carlisle paddle repair advice needed...

Howdy

I have a couple of paddles that have come apart. I was going to try to fix them, but after looking them over, I'm not really sure what was holding them together in the first place. There dosen't seem to be any glue residue where the PVC parts meet. There also seems to be no clip or anything like that to push the shaft into in the bottom either.







I am thinking about putting some epoxy in the bottom and a swipe of PVC glue at the top?

Has anybody else had to deal with this issue? Any advice would be appreciated.
