The Gunnison Valley Paddle Club will host a slide show presentation on Tuesday, April 10 at the Gunnison Arts Center. This free to the public slide show will begin at 6:30 pm and features Greg Morin and a canoe trip through the Dolores River Canyon in southwest Colorado.

The Dolores River flows through a spectacular desert canyon near the Colorado Utah border offering a multi-day excursion for canoeists, kayakers and rafters. It has a short and sometimes non-existent season which makes floating this stretch a rare experience.

Greg Morin will share his stunning photos and stories as well as answer questions about planning for and navigating the canyon in a canoe. This is a great opportunity for river users of all ages and abilities to come together to learn about a significant desert canyon of Colorado.

The Gunnison Valley Paddle Club will be offering additional shows throughout the summer highlighting river trips near and far. The Paddle Club is looking for others with river presentations. If you have or know someone who has a good river presentstion please contact me at

Greg Morin is a canoeist who works and lives in Gunnison. His slides will show the flora, fauna, and great geology of the canyon. The water, cliffs and hiking availiable there are extrordinary. He will also have some good insight to planning for such a trip. Hope to see you there.
