My girlfriend and I were floating the Roaring Fork last night and we saw a new addition to the river. A wrapped canoe in the rocky section above the final rapid in Cemetery. It was almost completely submerged. We are both in our first real kayaking season. Whats the protocol here?

Is cemetery even considered a rapid at these levels? Ran it a week ago and the only way I knew it was cemetery was riverside cabins! Not a wave in sight.

Had a good river rescue exercise for my intermediate and advanced crew and took the canoe out today. It was a walmart special. Came out in one piece and everyone had a blast swimming out to the rock and back. There was no name in it so it will be come our crash test dummy for future rescue classes.

ps the patented Peter Benedict super loop worked like a charm.
