Hi,

I am looking for a recreational use ocean kayak but don't have a lot to spend. Is it possible to get one for less than $200-250 or so? I've seen some on ebay sell new for about $450 but used is harder to come by. Any suggestions appreciated. FYI I am looking for a single for myself (6'2" 170 lbs)

Thanks

Not worth it for sea-kayaking!

That is pretty much junk for the ocean. I would not try to use it in heavy surf or where the current can be strong. Most ocean going kayaks are a lot longer and have a rear rudder controlled by your feet. That kayak is meant for protected waters like a lagoon or better yet a lake. Any sort of wind will push that thing around like a tooth-pick and/or flip you into the drink.

You would be much better off saving up some more $ and buying a real sea-kayak.

You ought to be able to find a more seaworthy sit on top or sea kayak used if you live in Long Beach.A lot of people buy them then hardly ever use them and sell them. Be careful using that walmart thing.
